On Rosh Hashanah 5777, Rabbi Komerofsky challenged Temple Chai's members to question the status quo. Temple Chai's Why Campaign is intended to help drive significant change by asking each other why things are the way they are, and how together we can make the world better.
Each week we will post a new challenge, and encourage our members and friends to spend some time at their Shabbat tables considering the week's question. If you're inclined to share your ideas on social media, please use the hashtag #GiveChaiATry when posting.
This week's question:
If we're going to choose two worship services to attend each year, why are they Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur?
They're the longest and most crowded times at the synagogue.
